Commentary on Editorial to Issue 4

A can of worms

It would seem that the last Editorial , "Here Now" has generated considerable debate online at various forums and livejournals.

Deborah Biancotti has compiled a comprehensive, extensively referenced summary in Blogsplosion , outlining the arguments made, the people involved in the debate and showing how far out of context the original editorial has been taken.

In order to offer a different opinion, three of the most strident critics of the editorial, Sean Wallace, Geoffrey Maloney and Gillian Polack, were invited to contribute "up to 750 words where you may discuss, refute or otherwise comment on my June editorial or anything that has been raised by this piece. Your commentary will not be edited...". Mr Wallace declined this opportunity due to time constraints, and Mr Maloney also declined.
